Needing just a single point to clinch the league title Hemingbrough got off the perfect start as Luke Zackerenko finished well after 5 minutes. Poor defending from long throws and corners were causing the home defence problems and within half an hour the host had equalised and then taken the lead. Five minutes into the second period and things got worse as a quick break caught out the home defence and all hopes for the title looked to have faded away. However with a quarter of an hour to go Steve Harrsion headed in at the far post and the unthinkable happened with just minutes to go as Zakarenkos free kick wide on the left avoided everyone to fire Hemingbrough into the York League Division 1 for the very first time. congratulations go out to all players who have represented the first team this season it has been a fantastic effort from a club who can boast that virtually all their squad as village based players
